Dealer Guide
Bust players out, change the game, confirm moves and count stacks at your table.
Deal at an Event
A dealer’s phone shows one table: the clock, the game, the blinds and the players.
- Sign in with your own account. A director gives it the Dealer role.
- Press Open beside the event on the Events page.
- In an event with dedicated dealers, open your table on the Tables tab and press Deal at This Table. Your table then opens on the My Table tab.
- Press the icon with four corners at the top right of the table’s card. The table fills the screen.
The top of a table’s page. The icon with four corners is at the right.
From the table’s page, a dealer busts players out, changes the game, confirms moves, counts stacks and uses the shot clock.
A dealer works only the table they chose. The other tables are there to read only. When you move to another table, press Deal at This Table on it. When you stop dealing, press Stop Dealing at This Table at the bottom of My Table.
In an event where the players deal, a dealer who plays helps at their own table, beside the player who deals there. A dealer without a seat sees the tables as every player does.
When the players deal themselves, the player in Seat 1, or in the seat closest to it, deals at their own table. That player can bust players out, change the game, finish a hand of hand-for-hand and count stacks at that table only, while they sit there.
When that player goes out or moves, the player in the next seat takes over. With dedicated dealers, no player does this.

Keep the Screen Awake
The table’s page can fill the screen of a phone, and stop the screen from locking.
- Press the icon with four corners at the top right of the table’s card.
- The menus and How to Play go away. PokerSjef asks the browser to keep the screen awake.
- Put the phone on the table, turned sideways. The clock and the blinds are then side by side.
The four corners fill the screen. The sun shows that the screen stays awake. The moon shows that it can lock.
- A sun beside the icon shows that the screen stays awake.
- A moon shows that the screen can lock. Press the moon to ask the browser again.
- If the browser cannot keep the screen awake, change the settings of the phone so that the screen does not lock.
- Press the four corners again to see the menus. On an iPhone, the bar of the browser stays.

Bust a Player Out
When a player loses all their chips, the dealer records the bust-out on the table’s page.
- Find the player in the list of players at your table.
- Press Bust Out beside the player.
- Check the name and the seat in the window.
- Press Confirm the Bust-Out.
A bust-out does not remove chips from play. The chips stay in play at the table.
If the player can still rebuy, the player keeps the seat and goes to the desk. The desk records the rebuy or the final bust-out.
If only one player is left after the bust-out, the button names the winner. The clock then stops, and the tables close.
Ties in Hand-for-Hand
Players who bust out on the same hand of hand-for-hand are tied. They share the best of their places, and they split the prizes and the points of the places that they cover equally. Outside hand-for-hand, only a shared win gives a shared place.
A Player Who Leaves with Chips
If a player leaves the event with chips, do not press Bust Out. Tell the Floor. The Floor records a withdrawal.
A Bust-Out by Mistake
Tell the Floor. The Floor presses Unbust, and the player returns to play.

Change the Table to the Next Game
In a mixed-game event, each table changes to the next game after an orbit.
- When the orbit is complete, press Next Game, Orbit Complete.
- The table’s page shows the new game and its amounts. The room clock shows it too.
A stud game has no dealer button of its own. In the stud games too, move the button one seat after each hand, as casino mixed games do. When the button has gone once around the table, the orbit is complete.
Next Game works only after the clock starts. Before the start, every table stays on its first game.
If you pressed it by mistake, press Back to …, with the name of the game before.
The level is the same for the whole room. A new level changes the amounts, not the game.
The Floor can also set the game of one table or of every table, on the Seating tab.

Confirm a Seat Move
When the Floor moves a player, the table’s page lists the move under Moves.
- Find the move under Moves on the table’s page.
- When the player sits in the new seat, between two hands, press Moved.
A move on the table’s page. Press Moved when the player sits down.
The player keeps the old seat until somebody presses Moved. If nobody presses it within 2 minutes, PokerSjef counts the move as made.

Play Hand-for-Hand at Your Table
At the bubble, every table plays one hand at a time. The clock stays paused.
- Deal one hand.
- If a player busts out, press Bust Out first.
- Press Hand Finished.
- Wait. The Floor starts the next hand when every table is finished.
Press Bust Out for every player who is out on the hand before you press Hand Finished. If you press it later, the ties and the prizes come out wrong.
Players who bust out on the same hand are tied. They share the best of their places.

Count and Record a Stack
A dealer can count a player’s chips and record the count. Everyone at the table then sees it.
- Press Stack Count beside the player.
- Count the chips.
- Type the number under Chips Counted.
- Press Save the Count.
At a break, press Count the Table to count every stack, seat by seat.
A count shows the chips at one moment, with the time of the count. It is not a live figure.
Everyone at the table sees the counts on the table’s page, players too, as they would see the stacks at the table.
Read the Notes Under the Blinds
Short notes on the table’s page tell you about the next level and about heads-up, when they apply.
The notes show under the blinds. In full screen on a phone turned sideways, they show under the clock. Only the people who work the tables see them.
- Next Level: … or A break follows this level: less than 90 seconds of the level are left. The note shows the blinds and bets of the next level at your table. The clock shows the time.
- Heads-Up: two players are left at your table in a game with blinds. The button posts the small blind. In the first betting round, the button acts first. In every later betting round, the button acts last.
When heads-up starts, a player must not post the big blind two times in a row. If necessary, move the button.
Each note shows only while it applies. A stud game has no blinds and no button, so it shows no heads-up note.
Use the Shot Clock
When somebody calls the clock on a player, the shot clock gives the player 25 seconds to act.
- Press Shot Clock under the blinds on the table’s page.
- Show the screen to the player. The player has 25 seconds to act.
- After 25 seconds, a countdown of 5 seconds starts. The figures change colour, and the screen shows Last 5 Seconds.
- When the player acts, press Stop.
If the player does not act in time, the screen shows Time. The Floor or the director then decides, as the rules of the club say. The screen closes after 10 seconds. To close it before that, press Close.
The shot clock runs on your phone only. PokerSjef does not record it or send it, so it also works without a connection. The clock of the event continues behind it.
The back gesture of the phone also stops the shot clock. The table’s page stays open, also in full screen.
If the sound of the phone is on, it plays a soft tone at Time.
